Two Charged Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a luggage theft where a substance thought to be irritant spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A young child was caught up in the incident during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
This event – described by police as was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
